Yesterday's words:

OUTSWEEP OUTSWEPT OUTWEEP OUTWEPT SOWETO SPEW STEW STOW SWEEP SWEET SWEETEST SWEPT SWOOP SWOT TWEE TWEET UPSWEEP UPSWEPT WEEP WEEST WEPT WEST WETTEST WOOT WUSS

Pangrams: OUTSWEEP OUTSWEPT (nice, both present and past)

Missing: POWWOW

Screw-up: SOWETO is actuall Soweto, a township in South Africa. Nixed.

Hint: Do not use POWWOW unless referring to the Native American ceremony...

WUSSY is documented back to 1878 (Mother Goose's Melodies or Songs for the Nursery). In 'The Foreign Freaks of Five Friends, Cecilia Anne Jones, 1882, she states "Pussy and Wussy at once took their places on the front seat". "pussy-wussy" make many appearences in early 20th century, finally firmly landing in frat-boy speak in the 70's as WUSSY and WUSS. Although Merriam-Webster defines only the noun form, WUSS, WUSSED and WUSSING are used in verb form as well, often followed by 'out'...

Another day.
