An old lady sits by the window fair,
With a cat curled up in her rocking chair.
She watches the world go by with ease,
Between violet blooms and yellow daffodils.
With a thimble in hand and needle in thread,
She mends and sews as she watches ahead.
For in the people passing by she spies,
Memories of her own life's sweet goodbyes.
The cat purrs softly, a soothing sound,
As the lady's thoughts begin to astound.
She watches the world with a peaceful grace,
In her tranquil corner, her special place.
Where violet flowers and yellow hues,
Remind her of the beauty life imbues.
And as the day begins to fade away,
She'll sit there still, until next day.
For in this simple life she's found,
Contentment and joy that cannot be bound.
With her cat by her side, she'll watch the world go by,
In her cozy corner, where she'll never die.
