An X1.3 flare was recorded with peak time 19:35 UTC on August 08, associated with NOAA AR3777. This event was also associated with an asymmetric halo CME mostly directed to the south-west, seen in LASCO-C2 data from 19:48 UTC August 08. Initial analysis suggests that this CME would have an Earth directed component and may impact earth from August 11. Modelling is ongoing to ascertain a more precise arrival prediction. The 10 MeV proton flux remained at background levels. Further isolated X-class flares remain possible.
