I've recently decided to get an old iPod classic and move my music library offline. Maybe for nostalgia or to be less dependent on my phone, maybe because streaming doesn't pay and I want to buy albums directly from artists, but likely because tagging and categorizing audio files brings me some joy. The biggest benefit however, has been changing how I think about my music library.
Unlike streaming services, I don't have an infinite amount of storage, so adding an album needs to be worth it. Deciding what to keep has been the most interesting part so far: Some albums I listen to a lot, some I don't listen to much but I have an emotional attachment to, some have ideas i like more than execution, some are music my friends will want to listen to, and one of them is the Michael Buble christmas album.
I won't be leaving music streaming any time soon: It's convenient, good for whims and sharing with others. But I don't need my library to fill a datacenter.
My library is what I decide to keep in the little space I have.
