Yay! I had a good start to this next month. I do hope it stays more competitive this time though.
I want to study the game a bit more mathematically when I get a chance. For now, I just use heuristics to decide when to reroll and how many dice to reroll. I don’t even consistently use the same heuristics from game to game.
I wonder if it could be cool to make a practice Farkle game where you get to play the same situation over and over again and see what gets you the best score on average.

agree, congrats! I'd like to see what the next month brings and compare it to the previous months. namely - if playing all days of the month with a strong technique is the key. to do this I want to log stats for the game and make them available to everyone at some point. simple stats at first.
Congrats @satch for winning the June tournament. You can now wear your 👑 flair if you like. :) The second tournament seemed to progress similarly to the first one, with the winner being clear from about mid-month onward. We only have a sample size of two, but I believe this reflects the 5-3-1 scoring: if one happens to get the top rank on multiple days, it builds a lead that's hard for anyone to beat due to the strong randomness in the game.
