I finished reading The Wolf of Withervale by Joaquin Baldwin the other day.

I had written a much, much longer review but then my client glitched. I'm taking that as a sign that I was too long-winded and will leave you this shorter review:

In a post-apocalypse-post-rebuilding world, a guy and his best friend become embroiled in an international conflict after a woman from an uncontacted tribe who lived deep in a seemingly-impermeable dome finds him while she's on the brink of death, hands him a magical mask and instructs him to bring it to her grandson. It's a really gripping epic fantasy, has a gay protagonist with a thing for bears and is a refreshingly mature fantasy novel. animorphs lord of the rings.
