I’m surprised

Here's the text of my lost post, with comments below:

I don’t know how to feel about this. I think Bubble will avoid many of the problems with its web-based counterparts, some by virtue of being on Gemini, and some by virtue of its small user base and open source not-for-profit nature. Perhaps Bubble as a CMS will succeed in making Gemini more accessible. I certainly think it is useful for Git.
But the Reddit aspect? I am happy with Station. I think individually hosted gemlogs should and will continue to be central to gemini culture. I don’t quite see the utility of Bubble as a social hub. I’m interested to see where this goes.

Yeah I'm really excited to see where it goes. Gemini's definitely been in need of easier publishing methods that can be used entirely within gemini.

I largely agree with you: Gemini does not need CMSs and indeed they are in conflict with the aspiration to stay simple. However, as has been discussed before, manually putting up a capsule does require a certain level of comfort with the technical details and this limits who can participate in Gemini.

The subspace aspect is naturally born out of the rest of the feature set, and even if one considers the Git issue tracking to be the primary use case, subspaces are still useful for adjacent discussions about a project, cf. IRC/Slack channels reserved for specific topics.

To be clear, I’m appreciate skyjake’s work and am glad that he made Bubble. I’m just trying to describe my immediate gut reaction.

I have one use case I'd like to try: as a place where anyone can reply to a Gemlog entry from anywhere across Gemspace.

I created s/discuss for this purpose.
