The Ubuntu font has been growing on me lately. I guess I just find it really readable. I packaged it as a Lagrange font pack and put it up on my capsule if anybody else wants it.
I appreciate how slow it is here. Mastodon, or at least my instance, hasn't been the same lately.
Just recently subscribed to my 100th gemini feed.
I put out a quick update for RocketCaster that I've been wanting for a while, which is proxying episodes over gemini. No more having to open another program to get an episode!
Big update for RocketCaster! You can now register with a client certificate and talk about podcast episodes with other podcast fans.

Just got an idea for a potentially cool new feature for RocketCaster... What if you could create an account with a client certificate and have a space to discuss podcast episodes and share recommendations?
The recent gemini chatter about RSS has got me wondering how difficult it might be to add gemini support to FreshRSS with an extension...
I found out tonight that Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time has had its source code reverse engineered allowing it to be ported to other platforms. I got it built on my PC and it feels so good being able to play it full resolution at 60fps. I think I might actually play it to completion for the first time like this.
I hope everyone else who observed it had a relaxing 4th! And to everyone who didn't, I hope you find some other excuse to kick back or do something special.
Robin Sloan has been drafting a new internet protocol that I suspect might be of some interest to people here. https://github.com/robinsloan/spring-83-spec
I've been running my own FreshRSS instance for about two weeks and have really been liking it. I might write a post on it if I can find enough to say.
If there are any fellow geminauts in need of an RSS reader or who just want to try it out, I've temporarily enabled signups.

Konpeito is back with one last mixtape

I've been tempted to start up a web site to mirror some of my gemini posts to a few times this week, but having to worry about web things like styling keeps turning me off.
[POLL Those who blog, where do you do it?] Gemini only | Web only | Gemini and Web with mirrored content | Gemini and Web with separate content
I just fixed the expired cert on rocketcaster.xyz so if you were seeing any issues with it that was probably why. Remember to specify a lifespan for your certs!
Using Station on my VR headset AMA
One of the underrated things about gemini is that everything is perfectly readable and usable no matter your window size. Too many modern websites turn into a mess as soon as you make your window much smaller than half a screen.
I discovered a really interesting gemini maze game a couple of days ago

After following scrawlings left by other mice I've been able to make it pretty far
I made a thing that allows you to search for and subscribe to podcasts from your gemini browser!

@skyjake The 3rd Android alpha for Lagrange is deserving of high praise! Excellent job
Anybody want to help me test my XMPP server? bear@chat.moddedbear.xyz
WIth 2022 right around the corner, what are some fun New Year's traditions you all do?
Been enjoying the SpellBinding word puzzle game lately. gemini://tilde.team/~stack/index.gmi
Today's events at {big_social_platform} are hopefully a reminder that if you rely on a centralized platform for communication -- don't!
Posting this from lagrange. I can see why this browser seems so popular! Maybe I'll start using it more alongside amfora which is my usual browser. Are there any other browsers out there that people here really like?
I've written up a log on how I used Wireguard and a VPS to self-host in a setup where I can't just port forward. It might be useful to someone else looking to self-host something. gemini://moddedbear.xyz/logs/2021-09-21-using-wireguard-to-self-host.gmi
Station is looking pretty nice in amfora and cool retro term...
Just noticed that Station is getting awfully close to 1000 logs. Who's the lucky one gonna be?
It might just be the gemlogs I'm subscribed to, but it's interesting how there seems to be on and off days for gemini.
Hm. This seems like a pretty cozy place so far.
