New to Gemini I'm the sysop of the Telnet BBS :The Queen City BBS
Always looking for the Gemini version of things to have on my phone. I' come from the time of text based internet and appreciate that in the 21c there's a call to return a thoughtful way to do this.

So lets talk a little Low Power Radio and Solar Terminology briefly. In the days of telegraphy we used a shorthand called the Q codes and they persist to this day in that usage. CW Continuous Wave or how Morse Code transmissions are called sends a letter at a time so abbreviations are useful! Texting before texting if you will. There were some unique to trains, and planes and ships, and radio but there are some standard ones radio operators use. In use they were statement or questions...

Don't know if this is something that would be useful to share as we're heading back into some warm weather again in the North East. I have an old house 1930's buid so not great insulation. Thinking about passive sollitions that I could afford I got some silver backed .5" foam board at the hardware store. The sheets are 48"x96", and half inch thick are around $20/per. You can cut it across to a width that sits on the window sill. My windoes are around 29" wide so I think I got about 3 - 30"x48"...

Anyone have issues with no-ip? I suddenly have a "cannot resolve host" error after making no changes on my end. So my BBS is down until I can figure out what happened.

Anyone else trying out making a gingerbug to make carbonated drinks at home? I'm used to making kvas here but not my own starter for the fermentation process. Just started a bug today and hope I get somewhere. I had a lot of fun working with yogurt once opon a time. When Dannon said they were going to patent their yogurt I was like, hoist up the jolly rodger we be taking some of that in the name of the king....

Well, it's nice as a Telnet BBS operator to see the BBS living on here in Gemini Space. Hoping to find some more news about old Gemini projects like the Turn by Turn directions capsule that existed, Ham radio capsules, and just plain old tinkering.
