These questions have a bad reputation not because they aren't valid, but btcause we don't cut them up properly and they therefore remain unmanageable. The issue of who we are needs to be divided to be digestible. Not 'Who am I?' but 'Who am I with work, with love, with friends, around children, etc.?'
It has no meaning because it's not an event, but a process. One can ask "What's the purpose of life?" and "What is the value of life?" as a follow-up. I believe the purpose is either procreation, or empowering others to do so. The value can be seen as either the contribution of an individual, or their ability to make impact in the future.
I believe it's a universal feeling and experience that allows living beings to bond with one another, and encourages them to actively transform the world to fulfill their objectives.
