A large filament eruption occured in the central-north part of the Sun near NOAA AR 3429 and NOAA AR 3434 from around 04:13 UTC on Sept 16th. The associated halo CME was first observed in SOHO/LASCO-C2 coronagraph data from 09:12 UTC on Sept 16th. The CME is directed to the south-west; further analysis is on-going to better determine the expected impacts.
