I've read 1Q84 by Murakami but didn't like it as much as Tokio Blues. Now I'm rereading The Fifth Head of Cerberus by Gene Wolfe. Really astounding.
Fifth Head is, like anything Gene Wolfe has done, incredible.
There's a great podcast called Alzabo Soup that does deep dives on all of Wolfe's books, often chapter-by-chapter.
