I saw a post on the fediverse (yes I still check it occasionally, even if I can't currently be bothered with my own instance), and thought it looked interesting.
So I checked out the blog post about it and site linked and then looked at the Acer 3500 laptop I had recently dragged out of storage sitting next to me and decided to plug it in.

I hope the battery on charge doesn't burn my house down.
I guess the next issue (presuming it boots) is what to run on it. I mean... I guess it will still have XP on it. We shall see, I suppose..
Update: So far it's a no go. I got a splash screen and then battery presumably fell over, and it won't boot without the battery nor with power plugged in at all actually. I should have a Toshiba NB300 netbook somewhere though. There's a couple of places to look where I may have stashed it hmmm...
