GAA star pops the question to major Limerick influencer

Donal O'Regan, 18 Aug

ENTREPRENEUR, social media influencer and busy mum-of-one, Louise

Cooney, is now a bride-to-be.

Louise, from Dooradoyle, shared a photo this Sunday on Instagram of her

elegant engagement ring with fiance Mark Sweeney and their adorable

baby, Jude in blustery Spanish Point.

Louise simply posted “Forever 15.08.24" and a white love heart emoji

when she shared the good news with her almost quarter of a million

followers.

Louise and Mark, a talented Gaelic footballer and actuary from Antrim,

met online during Covid.

Louise told The Sun in a previous interview that “it was that weird

thing where you meet for a walk”.

“We just clicked and it’s worked out really well. It was nice to have

that lockdown time, where there was no frills, or restaurants, or trips

away, or hotels, or anything like that — it was very low key.

“We got to know each other properly without any distractions or other

commitments.”

Now the happy couple, who reside in Dublin, can look forward to their

big day. Louise founded an athleisure clothing line, Cloo, and an

alcoholic sparkling wine brand, 67 Spritz.

When Mark isn’t in his suit and tie he is in a GAA jersey and shorts.

He played intercounty with Antrim and club football with St Jude's in

Dublin while living in the capital. They welcomed Jude into their lives

last November.

Well wishes started flooding in minutes after Louise posted the good

news.

Fellow Limerick influencer Niamh de Brun said: “Huge congratulations.”

Leanne Moore posted: “Huge congrats to you both. Gorgeous times ahead

x."

In less than 30 minutes there were some 5,000 likes on Louise's

Instagram page.

The fashion at the wedding, whenever and wherever that may be, will, no

doubt, be exquisite.
