Mystery surrounds a low flying plane which has been spotted across
County Derry in recent days.
The sight of the aircraft which has been observed flying at low
altitude over homes in towns and villages within the county has
prompted residents to take to social media.
Some puzzled householders took to Facebook to share images and videos
of the plane which some said was ‘passing over houses quite low and
loud’ and ‘appeared to be at less than 1,000 feet'.
The aircraft has now been confirmed to be the RAF plane Atlas C.1
A400M.
The LXX Spn arrived in the North on Thursday from RAF Brize Norton.
According to the RAF, they are reportedly conducting low-level
training.
One commenter on Facebook stated: “It’s the RAF practising low level
flight in the A400. Nothing to worry about.”
The crew are expected to depart from Aldergrove Belfast around 6pm on
Friday evening.
