Unusually for me I woke up early, so decided to go out for a walk before breakfast. Along the bike path, up through the pioneer cemetery and around the oval, then back home through suburban streets
Morning birds calling; there seemed to be a lot of Magpies[1] about, one or two in trees or on powerlines, then a group of six hopping around on the sportsground digging for worms — accompanied by three Mudlarks[2] and a solitary Noisy miner[3]. A few more miners in the bushes near Warrigal road, then nothing much until I got back home and a raucous foursome of Corellas — Little corellas[4] I'm fairly sure — flew overhead.
[2] Magipe-lark, mudlark, pee-wee
