I've been lax, nothing much seen and nothing much written. Not much enthusiasm to keep going here
Off today for a late afternoon ride and ended up in one of favourite locations, down by Gardiners creek circling around in the Glen Iris wetlands. Spring and its nesting season is upon us, the blue wrens[1] were hopping around in their colourful splendour and down at water level the Dusky moorhens[2] were honking, hooting and splashing around chasing each other. One of the resident Willy wagtails[3] came and scolded me as I stood on the boardwalk, presumably I'm too close to where they want to build their nest this year, although last year it was only a metre and a half from one of the park benches! Various other birds flitted past or splashed nearby, but those are today's pick
