I'm taking a whole post here to re-post material I received from a Friends of Israel e-mail update, along with some photos I requested related to that.
Jim Green originally sent out an e-mail "eAppeal", or call-to-action, on July 11. Here are a few paragraphs I want to highlight from that.
In May, I led another solidarity mission to Israel to express our love and support for the Jewish nation. We revisited the memorial lot where 1,200 destroyed, mangled, and mutilated cars from the October 7 massacre are kept. This time was different from my visit in January. This time I saw an ambulance that had been incinerated by a Hamas terrorist’s rocket-propelled grenade at the Nova Music Festival while 16 young people hid inside. All were killed and their bodies burned in the ensuing fire.
Further, I saw firsthand two terrorist pickup trucks with gun turrets welded to the back. Our guide at the memorial site detailed what was found inside the trucks, including a to-do list for the terrorists instructing them to destroy, rape, and kill Jewish people of all ages. And, if there was time, torture and mutilate them. And, if they had more time, burn and destroy their bodies. The things we witnessed there were horrifying.
I replied back and asked if there was any photographic material related to this. Amy Westphal, the Director of Ministry Support and Relief, had a few of her own photos from the memorial lot, and she gave me permission to share those.
Isuzu and Dodge trucks together
Here is Amy's description:
Attached, you will find 4 photographs from the "car graveyard" as I call it. This is one of three such lots in Israel since October 7.
The photos I attached are of the terrorist vehicles Jim mentioned in his letter. This was the first time I had actually seen the terrorist vehicles, or at least that anyone had pointed them out. There are more than 1800 vehicles in this lot alone. These are just two of I'm sure many. The lot is closed off now, so we couldn't walk all the way through it, nor could we go around the backside of the vehicles. It is difficult to see the gun turrets that were welded to trucks, but I assure you they were there.
Above the roll cage bars of the white Isuzu, you can see another black horizontal bar. That is part of that gun turret. Then on the black Dodge Ram, you can see a large piece of steel welded on the back side of the passenger cabin. There was a turret on this vehicle too but looks partially destroyed.
This car graveyard is located in Tkuma, near Netivot. On google maps it's actually listed as Tkuma Cemetery now.
For my part, I have been disturbed to hear even Christians that I know talking about how the war between Israel and Hamas needs to be "de-escalated", which in practical terms means simply that Israel needs to give up and let Hamas regroup, rearm, and refocus their assault. In reality, Hamas is part of a Palestinian culture that for generations has been brainwashed into wanting to see Jews and the people of Israel brutally and mercilessly wiped off the face of the planet, while applying as much suffering and terror to their victims as they possibly can in the process of reaching that goal.
