For now you may request an invite. You'll get an email as soon as you're able to sign up.
When you create your account you will be presented with a signed client cert. You will only see this cert once. You must save it somewhere safe and instruct your gemini browser to use it in order to access your account.
Once you have access to your account you may navigate to your Account Settings page and follow the "Create a new gemini ID cert" link in order to generate additional certs.
Changing your account name is not recommended.
