Today only:

** No -ED words **

AKIN DANK DEKE DIKE EKED INKPAD KAKA KAPPA KEEN KEEP KIDDIE KIDNAP KIDNAPPEE KINA KIND KINK KNEAD KNEE KNEED KNEEPAD KNEEPAN NAPKIN PEAK PEEK PEKAN PIKE PINK PINKEN PINKIE PIPKIN

Pangrams: KIDNAPPEE

I think I am suffering some neurological damage from Covid. Seriously, there are some studies, and a large number of people report brainfog. And maybe it's an excuse, but yes, I screwed this one up. It's not even an end-of-month puzzle. The proposed today-only rule was no -ED words, but I slipped -- twice! KNEED and EKED are obviously -ED words, as I can clearly see _now_. It's a little scary.

DEKE: (v) to fake an opponent out of position (as in ice hockey). I am weak on sports terminology due to my hatred of spectator sports.

KAKA: an olive-brown New Zealand parrot (not poop)

PIPKIN: a small earthenware or metal pot usually with a horizontal handle. I had one of these! Years ago my partner and I got one (that looked vaguely Japanese) from some second-hand store. We could not figure out what it was for, and whether it was a handle or a spout on it. A teapot for some ceremony? We showed it to the owner of a nearby store that sold Asian furniture and chotchkes (that is how it's spelled) -- and he said he had no idea what that was. It was a PIPKIN!

Another day.
