Sleep Is So Important

Sleep is so important for ones health. I say this as someone who is currently suffering from a stretch of bad/reduced sleep and is really starting to feel the effects.

I try to wake up at around 6am every day. I like getting an early start to the day and can take my time gearing up. I'm usually in bed by 10-10:30pm and screen time has ceased about a half hour before then.

However, over the last week and a half or so, I've been going to sleep past midnight and right after significant screen time. The results have been dramatic. I'm waking up later, feeling worse when I wake up, and I'm much more lethargic during the day.

I know that if I don't return to my normal schedule I'm going to get sick. I can almost feel my depressed immune system fighting all the shit the world throws at me and struggling to keep up.

Since developing a nightly routine that works for me I've been a huge advocate for people getting good sleep. It's one of the hardest habits to change, but it really does wonders to your overall well-being.

Sleep is the only chance our body gets to recover, so it's important we take special care in providing ourselves that opportunity.
