Stovetop Espresso

I love browsing estate sales online looking for random things. I'm usually not looking for anything specific, so if something catches my eye I usually add it to a watchlist and see if I'm up to actually bidding on it.

I recently purchased a "vintage" stovetop espresso maker with milk frother and just finished making my first latte at home! I think it turned out pretty damn well and I can't wait to try it again and fine tune my methods.

I've been in the market for an espresso machine for a minute now but never pulled the trigger because the machines are quite pricey and they take up a good amount of counter space that I just don't have at the moment. When I saw this machine and actually saw a video of how it worked, I was immediately in on it. It takes up no counter space and it's small enough to put into a kitchen drawer along with a coffee grinder, and it won't cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.

I won the bid for the item at around $30, which I think was fine. Even if I overpaid for it, I'm still way under whatever I would have paid for a full-blown machine, and when it makes sense I prefer buying used over new to practice sustainability.

Anyway, this thing works and I think I can get quicker and better espresso next time. I'm so excited to break this baby out with guests over. Maybe I'll even figure out latte art!
