This one is just weird.
Dagwood messes up his neighbor's garage, and the neighbor tries to sue him. Alvin, who makes a welcome return to the series, informs him that he can't get sued unless the process server (played by Shemp Howard) gives him the summons in person. While he's avoiding Shemp, he has to pretend to be Mr. Dithers in order to settle a contract with a man, Mr. Peabody, who Mr. Dithers insulted outside the office building, before finding out who he was. This leads to them going out to a nightclub with two girls, and when Blondie finds out, she joins in on the ruse and becomes arm candy for the extremely creepy Mr. Peabody. He finds out about the ruse and cancels the contract.
Meanwhile, two Sigmund Freud wannabes convince Dagwood to be part of their truth serum experiment, and they'll pay him $500 (amazingly, the exact amount he needs to pay off his sourpuss neighbor). Due to plot reasons, the situation convinces another man to make a deal with Mr. Dithers, and Dagwood gets a bonus. Shemp gets scared away by the creepy doctors and Dagwood never does get served.
Dagwood doesn't actually punch anyone in this one, but he says he should have punched Peabody in the nose. Blondie and Dagwood's relationship never seems in danger in this one, but Ollie from the office most likely breaks up with his fiancee, due to her fawning all over Dagwood at the nightclub (even though as I recall it was Ollie's idea for Dagwood and Peabody to go out with them...)
Also notable is Cookie promising that if Dagwood ever gets thrown in jail, she'll bake him a pie with a saw in the middle.
