O God, when Thou didist go forth in the sight of Thy people, making a passage for them, dwelling among them, alleluia, the earth was moved and the heavens dropped, alleluia, alleluia.
Psalm: Let God arise, and let His enemies be scattered, and let them that hate Him flee from before His face.
Glory be to the Father. O God, when Thou didist go forth in the sight of Thy people, making a passage for them, dwelling among them, alleluia, the earth was moved and the heavens dropped, alleluia, alleluia.
In those days, Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke to them: Ye men of Judea, and all you that dwell in Jerusalem, be this known to you, and with your ears receive my words. For these are not drunk, as you suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day:
But this is that which was spoken of by the prophet Joel: And it shall come to pass, in the last days, (saith the Lord,) I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. And upon My servants indeed, and upon My handmaids will I pour out in those days of My spirit, and they shall prophesy. And I will show wonders in the heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath: blood and fire, and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and manifest day of the Lord come.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.
Alleluia. By the word of the Lord the heavens were established, and all the power of them by the Spirit of His mouth.
Grant, we beseech Thee, almighty and merciful God, that the Holy Ghost may deign to come and dwell in us, making us the temples of His glory. Through our Lord, in the unity of the same Holy Ghost
In those days by the hands of the Apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch. But of the rest no man durst join himself unto them; but the people magnified them. And the multitude of men and women who believed in the Lord, was more increased: Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that when Peter came, his shadow at the least, might overshadow any of them, and they might be delivered from their infirmities.
And there came also together to Jerusalem a multitude out of the neighboring cities, bringing sick persons, and such as were troubled with unclean spirits; who were all healed.
Alleluia, alleluia. Send forth Thy Spirit, and they shall be created, and Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
Alleluia. Come, O Holy Ghost, fill the hearts of Thy faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Thy love.
Come, Thou Holy Ghost, come,
And from Thy celestial home
Shed a ray of light divine.
Come, Thou Father of the poor,
Come, Thou source of all our store,
Come, within our bosoms shine.
Thou of Comforters the best,
Thou the soul's delightful guest,
Sweet refreshment here below.
In our labor rest most sweet,
Pleasant coolness in the heat,
Solace in the midst of woe.
O most blessed light divine,
Shine within these hearts of Thine,
And our inmost being fill.
Where Thou art not, man hath nought,
Nothing good in deed or thought,
Nothing free from taint of ill.
Heal our wounds, our strength renew,
On our dryness pour Thy dew,
Wash the stains of guilt away.
Bend the stubborn heart and will,
Melt the frozen warm the chill,
Guide the steps that go astray.
On Thy faithful who adore,
And confess Thee evermore,
In Thy sevenfold gifts descend.
Give them virtue's sure reward,
Give them Thy salvation, Lord,
Give them joys that never end.
Amen. Alleluia.
At that time, Jesus said to the multitude of the Jews: No man can come to Me, except the Father, who hath sent Me, draw him; and I will raise him up in the last day. It is written in the Prophets: And they shall all be taught of God. Every one that hath heard of the Father, and hath learned, cometh to Me.
Not that any man hath seen the Father; but He Who is of God, He hath seen the Father. Amen, amen I say unto you: He that believeth in Me, hath everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the desert, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven; that if any man eat of it, he may not die.
I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is My flesh, for the life of the world.
I shall meditate on Thy commandments, which I have loved; and I shall lift up my hands to Thy commandments, which I have loved, alleluia
Receive, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Sacrifice which we offer to Thee, and deign to effect that we may devoutly live what in these mysteries we celebrate. Through our Lord.
Peace I leave with you, alleluia. My peace I give unto you, alleluia, alleluia.
We receive Thy Sacraments from heaven, O Lord, and beseech Thy clemency that we may still enjoy for ever what in so short a time is now accomplished. Through our Lord
