Since classes ended two or three weeks ago, predictably my time has been mostly occupied by worrying about exams and, to some extent, studying for them. I was worried this time around that I wouldn't get in enough time studying, but it seems like I planned it just right so that I seem to have prepared just enough soon enough to either ace my exams in the courses where I have higher competency or at least pass them where I'm struggling.
So that partially explains why I haven't posted in a while. Hopefully I'm going to get more back into the swing of things with both writing and gemcasting once the semester is over and I have a good stretch of free time before my next courses start.
I'm actually a bit more motivated to write on kwiecien.us more because of the housekeeping I did a couple weeks ago, whereby I converted my tilde.team site all the way over to the latest version of Logarion and converted kwiecien.us to use my very quick and handy bash script. At this point my gemlogging is now managed comfortably and I can make lots of posts without hesitation, and maybe even a true personal blog.
Another reason why I am writing this is that my last exam is in an hour and a half, and I will finally be done with the semester. (Of course, after I turn in one small late assignment; then I'll truly be done.) I'll certainly be glad to get this over with nd out of the way, and then I will have to figure out how exactly I'm going to graduate from here.
You see, I'm almost entirely finished with the curriculum pertaining to my major. This semester is basically the last of my literature classes, and now what's left are some annoying general ed requirements that I'm trying to get out of. That may or may not work, so depending on how much I can get out of and how much the school is willing to help me, I could either be all done in a few months, or all done in a few MORE months. I might be stuck here for the rest of 2021, but now that I'm so close to finishing I'm getting antsy. Some time after my third year I began to feel like I had studied enough and all this is really unnecessary, so I've been wanting to graduate and move on for some time now.
It's not that I don't love what I study or even my university, but living far away from family is tiring, and the pandemic lockdown just made school not enjoyable at all. Online courses? Terrible. As with a lot of people, 2020 was basically one of the worst years I've ever had. (Of course, discovering Gemini was great!)
Anyway, stay tuned for more fun content!
