Uh, this one is kind of weird. So, it's the movie that came out of the 2000s Dennis the Menace cartoon show, so it's TV production value all around. It also has an extremely weird story. The set-up, of the Wilsons going on a cruise and Dennis, his family, and his friends being there to ruin their relaxation, seems normal enough for this kind of movie. However, they also added in an island princess, some kind of power-hungry island hypnotist wizard, two thieves after a ruby ring that belongs to the princess, the thieves taking Margaret hostage, the island natives putting Dennis and friends in prison, and a video game with mind control powers that helps Dennis and Joey escape and save the day.
Look, this is based on a single panel gag comic about a kid who says things that are funny because a kid is saying them. What in the world is all this Fantasy Island business for? Going on a cruise and ruining Mr. Wilson's life? Fine. I get it. That's just what happens in any Dennis the Menace movie or TV show. Saving an island nation from being usurped by a madman? That doesn't belong in this movie.
I mean, it's not a bad movie. It's just a dumb cartoon. It just goes to show that you can't make Dennis the Menace interesting without adding things that belong in other movies.
