# DEV BLOG - Week 6 of 2023
I went ahead and shifted my pay job system to UTC as well as all of my timekeeping scripts. It just makes more sense to have all of that on UTC since all the servers I work on are also on Coordinated Universal Time. I got some more tshirt designs up, and have been working on the static sites so I actually have some sort of web presence. I can't remember if I mentioned it or not, but I discovered that I have Aleph BBS up and running, and it has been quietly doing so since last June.
I started using UTC, and so far it has been a good idea. I'm not out of pocket enough for it to really matter to me, so it isn't a disruption.
I got the cute little dev server for Wirix, and it has been an absolute nightmare. Apparently the Intel AX201 NIC chip has fallen out of favor. It seems I always by the system that has the chip all the distros don't want to play nice with. I have tried Arch, Kail, Ubuntu, Debian, and you can forget RedHat crap. I ain't going there. Now I am downloading Slack to get back to my roots, I guess. We'll see how that goes. The server name will be Romdeau, and I may or may not use Ergo Proxy characters for the releases, I haven't decided yet.
A random note off the beaten path: I think man pages are sexy, and tldr is as good a nudie magazine as you'll ever find in the help world. We point and click too damned much, and I think going to Slack again will make a lot of Wirix more worthwhile. In my mind, it is more of the exploration module to Slack's Saturn V, or Kennedy Space Center. However you want to view it.
I ran with it. I got Slack 15 and loaded it, and the world is eons better. I also went and fetched myself a new 5-port switch, and having real Linuxes instead of the commercial "toy" ones did wonders for the connection. I had no problem at all. In fact, I am editing this file right now on Solis where it normally lives from the new machine Romdeau.
