the dank peed-on dog bed reeks
a reverse candle but danger-less,
permanent, growing in strength,
unable to be washed owing to
lack of zippers & compartments
lack of motivation to wash sans machine
machines really have taken over
already haven't they?? i put the reverse
candle outside,
candle in the cool evening air
the four dogs of the apocalypse
barrel down the stairs,
four barrels that can't turn a door handle but
four barrels that can make much noise!
then, rather than get their feet wet
on recently-rained-on grass,
these barrels rest on the reverse candle
the audacity,
to light a candle and then lie in it
