I've been playing Melee/Wizard on game night when people are missing, which is sadly not uncommon, since they're all busy young adults. So far it has been random dungeons from The Fantasy Trip 2019 Postcard Contest that I'm running with Melee/Wizard to help people learn the basic rules of The Fantasy Trip. I'm going to move it to a TFT campaign, but basically one where everybody has to be back in town at the end of each session of play. That means it doesn't matter who is there and who isn't. I think I'm going to use one of Greg Gillespie's megadungeons as the skeleton, probably Barrowmaze Complete. I'll convert some monsters before hand and adjudicate other things on the fly.

I've got the TFT books The Book of Unlife and Old School Monsters which ought to help with converting monsters. Old School Monsters converts a a few of monsters from Tome of Horrors Complete (Swords & Wizardry) to TFT, and I figure that I can use OSM and TOHC for examples of how to convert other monsters to TFT. I think that Swords & Wizardry is close enough to B/X D&D, Old Schoole Essentials, and Labyrinth Lord that converting the monsters in Greg Gillespie's megadungeons, which are all written for Labyrinth Lord, should be pretty easy.

And I just had a thought: TFT doesn't have morale rules, but I could just use the ones from B/X-Old School Essentials-Labyrinth Lord. And if I'm doing that, I might also use their reaction rolls instead of the 1d6 reaction rolls in TFT, which has always seemed too swingy for my taste.
