Rosy Crow 1.4.4 — Another small update. Version 1.4.3 includes the following additions: The context menus for links (with options such as Copy URL, etc.) will now include a header that displays the link's destination URL. Links to non-Gemini URLs will now be annotated with the URL's schema (this can be disabled in Settings). Also included are the following bug fixes: Fixed a visual stutter that occurred on tab buttons when navigating between tabs Tabs won't try to load all at once on startup,...

hello Addison. I am wondering if you have plans to implement decoding for ANSI colors in a future version?

What happened on 12/28? — The app's Google Play audience nearly doubled over a matter of a couple of days. I'm scratching my head about that one.

Rosy Crow 1.4.2 — I published version 1.4.2, which includes a handful of bug fixes. Swiping Change The most impactful change was to rework the left/right swiping feature. This allows quick navigation between tabs, but the entire page being swipable made it impossible to scroll horizontally in pre-formatted gemtext blocks. As of 1.4.2, you can swipe left and right *only on the top navigation bar* in order to navigate between tabs. As before, the swipe feature can be disabled from the...

Last tabs demo, I promise — Today I completed a major refactor to decouple tabs from their associated webviews, with the ultimate goal of putting tabs into a swipe-able carousel. The end result can be seen in the linked video. Not shown is the fact that tabs can be imported and exported as JSON files. I'm impressed with how much nicer this feels with the new navigation style. I still have a few bugs to squash before this is release-worthy, but I'm very pleased with how it's gone.

Second Tabs Demo — Tabs are now larger and easier to use in general. They can be swapped between right- and left-hand sides of the screen, or hidden altogether. Most interaction with the tabs is done through context menus now. There's a menu entry which will check the host for a "favicon.txt" file and, if it's present, use that as its icon. I switched the UI text to use the Noto Sans font, and Noto Emoji for tab icons that are emoji. I'm looking forward to publishing a release soon! 😁

Tabs Demo (watch the bottom-left corner) — The above is a link to a screen-recording demonstrating the current state of tabs in Rosy Crow. I haven't had much time to work on the app over the last couple of months, so it's been slow coming. I'm quite pleased with how they're coming along so far. The bird emoji seen on the tab buttons is just a placeholder. It will eventually be replaced by the first letter of the page's title or domain name (in that order). Update: I decided against making...

I might be jumping the gun a bit, but I thought it would be nice to have a space here to post updates regarding my new Gemini client, Rosy Crow. Feel free to report bugs here as well, I'll check periodically.
