01/10/2021 (things i learned)
- OMG /dev/video0 is legit a thing.... `mpv /dev/video0` BOOM you have your webcam
- `ffmpeg -i /dev/video output.mp4` ALSO WORKS HOLY...
- Made my first tutorial videos, these things are wayy harder than it looks omg
- I should make more videos, don't care about how good they are. Get my voice, face and knowledge out into the internet
- Microphone on tablet is on the side, quite good quality, better than laptop's anyway. if i screen record and play at the same time, a simple ffmpeg is all that's needed to combine
- Malaysian job stories (most likely in klang valley) is so grounding to reality.. reminds me of kumon
- i wonder what about `skinnyfabs - happy` reminds me of `eminem - stan`
- AH most subscribed indonesian youtuber i dont understand at all... I mean i'd like to?..
- user stories are legit lmfao, this just makes TRIZ all the more predatory... but i guess many companies have their own cult/propaganda capitalist theories?
- facebook extra security is annoying, but props to them i guess, making good out of the tragic security practices the general public has
- i still dont understand why ffmpeg clips videos so slowly... even video decoding isn't that slow... and i'm pretty sure you can just start decoding at the wanted time frame... UGH
- you pay for the advertisements by participating in the market (big picture wise), moral is dont take ads as ur heroes for free online content
- I-frames, P-frames, B-frames, (IPB frames, i/p/b) with lowest to highest compression... explains SO MUCH... oooh "datamoshing" wikipedia has good info on this (no sources tho, but got discussion)
- "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" probably worth rewatching cuz i wonder why it didn't successfully get into my head that european colonizers specifically were terrible, but no tamil/indo dubs :'(

- usa "identity politics", that's not how i would describe the two situations in mind but the phrase keeps popping up. First one is the bright sheng blackface and second is native american origin stories. 1st one, whole thing is stupid, fuck all the european classical musicians in the first place. 2nd one, eye-opening.. Of course origin stories are difficult to cope with modern (scientific) consensus, but why are some taken more seriously than others?

- differences manglish and singlish, i wonder how chinese the common manglish refers to...
- BAHASA ROJAK, completely forgot this dimension of it. Funnily, indonesian wikipedia article on Manglish is longer than malay's one. But malay has a long article about bahasa rojak. oh but they are different, bahasa rojak is more malay than english, forgot... manglish is mostly english AH maybe that's whyyyyy chinese malaysians here don't talk that much malay to each other (except maybe the tiktok people xD)
