I have other websites and spaces I post at all across the WWW. Gemini seems somehow more personal, despite its lack of personalization. It’s kinda like imageboards in that sense — there’re no obvious numeric indicators of who’s more “popular” or more influential. Like Gopher, it feels more permanent (even though it’s not really) than the Web. I feel like I can write my thoughts without the intrusions that the web basically has built in. Styling is handled by your client, everything’s encrypted, formatting’s simple — very cozy and very nice. Plus, it’s all Unicode so I can do silly things like add emojis:😊👍⚡️😎🚊🥃♊️💯✈️🌙🎑🏞
I think Gemini will be fun.
