It is common to find so many posts titled as “Hello World!” when I browse throughout the Gemini community. I am aware that the phrase “Hello World” with the emoji of a :-) is very common among program developers when they start their studying in coding. Also, when I was trying to learn some coding, the first program that I successfully ran was the text display of “Hello World :-) .” If I am not overthinking here, I assume that the members in the Gemini community may have some profile similarities with program developers, who have certain expertise in digital and cyber technologies. Nevertheless, different from Github, the major platform on which developers share their codes and technical skills with others, the Gemini community serves more as an entertainment platform that allows technical professionals to express and share their random thoughts. However, I wonder what other functions the Gemini community would provide to technical geeks in such a small Internet. Also, if some Gemini members who have published “Hello World!” do not have any coding experiences or skills, what is the meaning for them to join the small Internet community and intimate the way program developers tend to behave? I will be looking for more social implications about Gemini community members and their posts in the following weeks of exploration.
