Although in the previous posts and records I mainly talked about some particular features in the Gemini community beyond user posts, this series of posts is very intriguing because it is some posts for commercial purposes. The series of posts is for the promotion of a SEO company based in India that claims to help people to optimize their search results on Twitter and Facebook. At the beginning of my exploration in the Gemini community, I said that such an unconventional online niche challenged the traditional commercial Internet as there would not be advertisement displays due to technical difficulties. However, this post proved that my initial thought was somehow wrong because people could always use different formats to display advertisements in an online space. Such a format of online advertising in the Gemini community reminded me of individual advertisement posts in Facebook groups. The advertisements in the Gemini community, indeed, are ideologically similar to those personal posts in Facebook groups as they only try to reach out to particular groups. While those on Facebook tend to reach out to local people who are spatially close, Gemini advertising posts may get to some people who have similar interests in technologies and online subcultures. If possible, I would like to know more about the real effects of these advertisements for SEO in the Gemini community, which is anti-mainstream.
