The CNN panel commentary after last night's US presidential "debate" was without question the weirdest thing I've ever watched: what's been obvious to me for three and a half years was :suddenly: obvious to most - if not all - of the commentators, who I'm willing to bet were all absolutely certain Biden was a reasonable candidate the day before.
It seemed somewhere between prepared/orchestrated, and an astonishing case of collective true believer denial magically unraveling.
And if you think the above amounts to Trump support, you're wrong - there's bountiful "suggestibility magic" going on yonder "other side".
I can only hope there's plenty more unraveling along those and many other lines to come, because Americans of both primary "sides" have never seemed more pathetic.
It's truly become the land of the me, and the home of the knave....
I couldn't sit through more than 30 minutes of it myself. I tuned into one of the youtube streams of it and watched a bit, and then immediately tuned out when it further devolved into going on about who's better at golf.
Such a shame that these two are the best our country can come up with.
It's truly become the land of the me, and the home of the knave....
Couldn't have said it better myself.
I have become so disenfranchised with US politics that it has become a problem of conscience TO vote for either of the two parties.
That debate was two old grumpy men, yelling at clouds. Nothing more. So gross.
If you would have told me 10 years ago that by 2024 I'd be so jaded I wouldn't even *watch* a presidential debate, I'd have kicked my own ass 😂
