These are films we used to see on television, I have foggy memories
of them. I don't know if they still show them.
Saturday Night Fever 1977
It has Bee Gees disco tunes, disco era film,
starring Travolta but one friend jumps from a bridge and it's
quite an unhappy film.
What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? 1962
This is Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. I would play this on VHS
on warm summer days. I would block out the sunlight and play this
messed up film.
Dog Day Afternoon 1975
Al Pacino, John Cazale. A siege in a bank. The hostages and the public
grow to like the robbers. It's almost wholesome then they become somewhat
out-gunned.
Three Sovereigns for Sarah 1985
This was Vanessa Redgrave in a TV mini series in the 80s.
All about the goings-on in Salem (witchcraft). I like the clapperboard houses.
So that's all I can think of. Well, if I can think of anything else
I'll add it.
Mask
Cher played the part of a rock chick but her son's face was disfigured. He
was a rocker but I think he died from complications
The Others 2001
In which Nicole Kidman lives in a mansion in the 1940s but does not realise
she is a ghost, in fact even finds her own grave.
Ryan's Daughter 1970
This was filmed in the 70mm letterbox format in Ireland. It's set in the
WWI era. The village was built for the film. It has beautiful
cinematography with the Skelligs in the background in some shots. The
Skelligs were also in two Star Wars films.
Warner Archive on youtube has clips from it.
Union City 1980
I half remember this on tv. It had Deborah Harry, it was about a thief
stealing a couple's milk every morning. They ambush and kill the thief and
well... the thing escalates.
