Well as you know, I'm 20 years old into computers, IT and radios! This capsule and well this about me is a reflection of.. me!
From a young age, I found myself drawn to the world of technology. As I was growing up, I would often find myself doing lots of computer stuff. I would always spend as much time as I could, either at home or in school. I also created my own website *though using web builder tools at the time,* when I was just in 3rd or 4th grade.
However, my path through education was not without its challenges. I did end up struggling to find my place among my peers and often felt like an outsider looking in. I didn't do well either with pretty much any subjects at all. In middle school, I was builled a ton and no one liked me. My childhood was basically not having any friends. I ended up doing online and cyber school throughout the rest of my middle and high school years, minus when I went to Vo-Tech, more on that later. So I was very much isolated as well.
Alongside my physical health challenges, I have also grappled with mental health stuff, a lot to this day as I write this, which that includes social anxiety, and generalized anxiety disorder. As I mentioned earlier, growing up, I often felt isolated.
So moving away from the heh sad side, As I entered high school, a good moment arrived when I was allowed to take part in the form of a vocational school program in Marketing & Web Design at our county's Vo-Tech. It was here that I experienced a good bit of a turn around for the first time, basically learning during that program became an exciting and fulfilling feeling. Surrounded by other individuals who shared my passion for technology, I at the time did well.
Yet, even as I celebrated my growth, I grappled with the lingering effects of my past struggles. Self-doubt and insecurity often crept in and still to this day sometimes.., causing me to question my abilities and place in the world.
Let's pause a little bit and move to why I keep mentioning radios a lot! In 2023, I will say, a new chapter in my life did begin with a discovery: the world of ham radio. I've always had an interest or at least I've known about it a little from watching youtube channels such as The Modern Rouge, but never actually got into it until just recently. Eventually I finally studied for my license exams!
The moment I received my license in February, it was a awesome achievement at least myself personally unlike any other. Armed with my knowledge and a growing passion for it as I got to experience it more, I immersed myself more and more into it. From experimenting with digital modes like FT8 and BPSK-31 to participating in Parks On The Air (POTA) activations, I loved the joy of connecting with fellow hams from all walks of life.
I discovered a huge sense of feeling part of a community *for once in my life and purpose.* Ham radio became more than just a hobby; it was a gateway to a global community of individuals united by a shared love for technology and communication. It also helped me make all sorts of new friends, it also led me to find like minded people. Some are even around my age which me and them are good close friends to this day now.
While ham radio ignited my passion to just talk and make friends! The world of IT and web development has in the past and still to this day, is my playground for problem-solving and fun. *Or getting frustrated at Windows* lol.
Recently, I also achieved a significant milestone in my career by getting a job as a full time Jr Web Developer. It is my very first job too!
As I start on this new chapter, I am filled with excitement!
And finally, as I reflect on my journey thus far, I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude. I mean I still deal with social anxiety and anxiety in general which sometimes causes self-doubt issues, but the challenges I faced in my early years have shaped me into well the individual I am today.
Looking to the future, I am hoping to grow and make an impact on helping others. I want to be a lifelong learner, constantly pushing my knowledge and skills. I want to help people! My friends that I've known always mentions that they feel they've learned something from me whenever I talk to them.
If you've made it this far, thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I hope that my story was interesting.
I also invite you to explore the various sections of my Gemini capsule, where you'll find a well random mix of information, projects, and rambles on the topics that are my passion. From my blog, where I share random thoughts and tutorials, to my projects showcase, there is some stuff to discover.
Thank you for taking the time to read through my story!
