Douglas Gymnastics Club, based at Southside industrial Estate,

Pouladuff Rd, Cork, was a hive of activity recently for their end of

The routines included ones on the floor, beam, rings and high bar as

gymnasts from recreational to advanced all took part in the event.

There were also a number of awards presented across the few days,

including Club Person of the Year, Coach of the Year, Volunteer of the

Year and individual gymnasts awards.

A spokesperson for the club congratulated all who took part in the

displays for their hard work leading up the event and said it was great

to see so many young gymnasts taking part.

Some members will continue right through the summer, while others will

take a break for a few weeks.

One of their former gymnasts, Meg Ryan, represented Ireland at the

Olympics in Tokyo and on the evidence of the displays she won’t be the

last to reach that level from the club.
