A filament eruption occurred in the northwestern quadrant of the Sun from around 20:20 UTC on Aug 30th. The associated coronal mass ejection (CME) was first observed in SOHO/LASCO-C2 coronagraph data from 22:12 UTC on Aug 30th. The CME is directed to the south-east and the bulk of the CME is not expected to be Earth directed. However, a glancing blow of the shock is possible. Further analysis is on-going to estimate the arrival time of potential glancing blow of the CME.
