2023/wk5 — a new approach

Maybe I'll try a new approach, a week's little notes together. I'm finding that motivition and making time to write just isn't working for me

2023-01-29 / Sunday / A long drive back from Bright to Melbourne

2023-01-30 / Monday / Back at work

Rainbow lorikeets and Corellas calling up in the gum trees around the ringroad at work, Noisy miners being noisy from gardens and bushes.

2023-01-31 / Tuesday / WFH

A small flock of Sulphur-crested cockatoos have descended on the fruiting trees in a garden that backs onto the railway line. Silently chomping through everything they can find, the only sound the crack of the nuts and rustle of falling twigs and food fragments, such a difference from their normal raucous behaviour

Later in the morning we rode through the Huntingdale wetlands and saw distant Chestnut teal and a solitary Australasian grebe

2023-02-01 / Wednesday / Park walk

My WFH morning walk up through the park and back, a magpie warbling up on the topmost branches of a gum tree, Sulphur-crested cockies chomping on an almond tree's fruit. On the way back a flock of 20-30 Corellas flew noisily down a side street and across our path, their calls reminding me of holidays away up near the Murray river as I'll always think of them as inland birds
