Summer lunch-break, and summery weather. The cicadas are screaming as I walk down to the lake and a half lap then the boardwalk over the Jock Marshall Reserve
A single coot, a single moorhen, a single grebe motorboating along. Hundreds of gambusia at the surface of the lake, then a pair of Chestnut teal fly off from the railing as I get too close and land with a big splash in the lake. Over at the more sheltered waters of the Jock Marshall Reserve there's a couple of Wood duck, a pied cormorant in the distance, and at least six large turtles floating around at the surface sunning themselves -- Macquarie turtles I think I've had them ID'd previously
