Restricted to home in isolation certainly limits the wildlife observations, today was a very brief reptilian glimpse as I was mowing the lawn. There's a metre wide gap between the end of our shed and the fence where the feral rope grass grows manically, its near impossible to keep it down to a manageable level, although mowing and frequent attacks with the garden shears helps. The shed also appears to be one of the haunts of the local Marbled geckoes[1] and several small skinks, saddly, both are a frequent target for the local cats. The grass is so thick that mowing it is always slow going, which lets any wildlife in front get out of the way ... or so I hope. Today a decent size skink ran off ahead of me, about 12cm long and still possessing all of its tail, so not yet pounced on and slaughtered or maimed by a cat.
