A lunch-time outing to work for a colleague's farewell, then ride home along Scotchmans Creek in the middle of the day. Not a lot of birds to be seen, mostly just heard around me. Endless Noisy miners[1] cheep-cheep-cheeping, in the treetops the shriking of the Rainbow lorikeets[2]. A couple of magpies[3] warbling, and at least they were visible down on the edge of the path, digging for worms. Somewhere nearer the golf course the distant calls of a couple of Pied currawong[4], probably one of my favourite bird calls
