The weather's still miserable grey and damp so my ride today wasn't very inspiring or inspired, out and back through a few suburbs, back through the park. Pigeons were pretty much the only birds I saw; flocks of big feral rock doves[1] near the shops and down along the Frankston train line, a few pairs of Spotted doves[2] trying to stay warm and forage on the ground where the sun heated the concrete. None of the native pigeons, no Crested pigeons[3] or the very attractive Bronzewings[4], although I see them around at times, the latter very infrequently.
