A morning trip over to Mount Waverley to perform my good deed for the day, to do battle with my father in law's ancient lawnmower and give the lawn what should be its last haircut before winter.
Shrieking overhead loudly enough to be heard over the lawnmower; a mix of Rainbow lorikeets[1] and Musk lorikeets[2] in the flowering gums on the nature strip — a red flowered one here and a creamy-whiet flowered one next door.
