It was a mild late summer day today for most of the time, but somewhere in the late afternoon the clouds came over and the temperature dropped -- autumn is on its way. Riding home there were spots of rain, gusts of wind chilling me and seeming to set the birds on edge.
All through the woodlands along the creek I seemed to see magpies[1], either scratching around in the leaf litter and dirt or chasing each other in pairs or small groups. Plenty of pee-wees[2] in pairs too, calling and feeding, and Little ravens[3] foraging for food. Still heard all the Noisy miners[4] and Rainbow lorikeets[5] in the trees, but no sight of them.
