A variation on the theme, the daily ride involved a lot of inner suburban roads, major & minor, all very overgrown with trees and greenery. Plenty of parks and sports ovals too, the birdlife all the open farmland birds that both like that and are adapted to humanity; magpies[1] & peewees[2] digging for worms, swallows[3] tearing around low over the grass eating insects. Small flocks of doves[4] and Crested pigeons[5] pecking around in the grass, the much larger feral pigeons[6] doing much the same
