2020/1108/1030 — garden flyover

Same as yesterday, a wildlife note from home and garden.

I was inside the house drinking coffee and reading, son was in his room reading, wife was out in the back garden reading the paper. Suddenly she started shouting and telling us to go out the front, half heard it was "something something... look south". We ran outside but had no real idea what to look for and came back to see what the fuss was.

A small flock of six Yellow-tailed black cockatoos had flown past, then wheeled around and flew over the house before heading off to the south -- an uncommon sight here in the suburbs but one of my favourite birds of all time, with a lovely mournful cry and slow floppy-looking flight
