Daniil Ivanovich Kharms: On Pushkin

It is difficult to say something about Pushkin to one who know nothing about him. Pushkin was a great poet. Napolen is a lesser man than Pushkin. Bismarck too, compared to Pushkin, is a zero. Alexander I, II, and III are mere soap bubbles compared to Pushkin. In fact, all men are mere soap bubbles compared to Pushkin, although Pushking himself is but a soap bubble compared to Gogol.

So, instead of writing about Pushkin I better write something about Gogol.

However, Gogol is so great that about him there is no need to write anything, so I go back to Pushkin.

But to write about Pushkin after Gogol is somehow insulting. And about Gogol there is no need to write. So I won't write anything about anyone anymore.
