Arrival

Durtodd Yurthadrigan arrives in Lisergia

Meta

Today I created the world of Lisergia by following the instructions in the book. I was pleased with how reliable the method of dice rolling created a very detailed world.

Then I rolled on a list of names that somebody posted on one of the roleplaying discord servers I'm on. I saved that list and have been using it to great use. I'll include it here in case you want to see it.

Incidentally, in vim, it's an easy `:r!cat ~/names.txt | shuf | head -n 1` to get a name.

All there is to do now is to roll an initial location (223: in the middle of the ocean between the archipelago and the eye), and a starting scenario on the Womb.

Location: The scribe's laboratory

Experience: singing rainbow

Free writing

The light breaks through the water in fractal prisms

Stars through the windows suspended in the water fluid shimmering in the jelly

inside the dome wandering the between the tables in the room, beakers and vials with their own suspensions

empty, cold, deafening quiet. Oppressive pressure at the bottom of the sea you can hear the weight of the world in your ears.

the laboratory of the scribe is full of books thick tomes heavy, full of experimental words and unstable ideas. written in the ink of the squid, glowing and luminescent an ink made from the biostuff of the angler fish. bone quills make of fish bones. bright colored inks the pink of coral, the bright orange of the clownfish.

In the abyssal deep there is no light by which to read

who is the scribe who labors by candlelight in the deep, who collects and collates, who grinds ingredients and combines them, painter of the word, sculptor of thoughts.

(the womb: action line description creature)

Agree with the Speed Squire

The birds have sent the code

Driven Swan

(ask the stars)

The fang burning. Hostility fear honesty pride

the youngling, his mettle tested, survival tested. His knight is gone where is he. Now it is his time, before it is time the speed squire, premature too fast too soon not ready

The burning swan driven can it last? The birds have sent the code and it swan carries it, burning the singing rainbow, consuming what lies in its path.

driven swan burning fang speedy squire, the apprentice of whom is asked too much

does he hunt the burning swan? is his inevitable demise the message encoded therein

the scribe's is to preserve the story of the arms bearer the fang and the swan the burning

and mine is to witness and deliver it to him

Summary

I rolled on the womb a few times and on Ask the Stars once, and did a bunch of freewriting.

I think I understand that a knight has disappeared one way or another (dead? abandoned their post?) and that their young squire has been thrust, under prepared and under trained, into the roll of the hero. His oncoming doom is the Burning Swan. And Durtodd must witness their confrontation and deliver the story to the scribe to be recorded in strange inks in the laboratory under the sea.

I'm going to decide to go ahead and borrow the "scene" structure from Mythic GM Emulator to keep track of characters, plotlines, and modified scenes.

I will end this scene and take a corollary.
